Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, DT of Inter Miami, took advantage of the press conference this Thursday to express his position in the face of criticism emerged in most of the Mexican soccer clubs that participated in the Leagues Cup and that were eliminated under the excuse that the logistics of the tournament affected their performance on the field.
The Argentine coach reiterated his criticism of the complaints of some Liga MX teams and reiterated that they accepted the conditions and if they have something to claim, it is not against the organization of the Leagues Cup, but against the president of the Mexican Soccer Federation.
“Concacaf organized the tournament, called MLS and Liga MX, they sat down, saw how the tournament was going to behow much money they were going to earn, what the business was like, because we forget that everyone likes the business and then the protests come,” said Tata Martino.
And he stressed: “When you accept all this you have no place for claims, In any case, if each club wants to complain, who they have to complain to is the president of the Mexican Federation (FMF)., and not to the tournament organizers. The one who accepted the conditions is the president of the FMF”.
The Liga MX teams were swept away by the MLS teams in the Leagues Cup, since only two representatives of the Mexican league remain in the quarterfinals (Monterrey and Querétaro).
“MLS told us we are going to have a tournament, but we do it the way we want and whoever wants to come to play should do so and whoever doesn’t, shouldn’t come”sentenced the Tata.

Liga MX has issued a statement in which it calls for more attention in the VAR for the matches of the Mexican clubs that are still alive in the tournament with the MLS, this after the controversial elimination of América against Nashville in the round of 16 of the Leagues Cup.
“We will be closely following their next matches, focusing on the arbitration issue and VARa situation that we have already made latent before the Organizing Committee of LC, prior to the start of the Round of 16, with the aim of turning it over to Concacaf for its corresponding analysis ”, can be read in the Liga MX statement .
Liga MX requested more attention in the duels between Rayados de Monterrey vs LAFC and Gallos Blancos de Querétaro against Philadelphia Union in the quarterfinals of the Leagues Cup.
