This long weekend generated a lot of expectation, among travelers and merchants, since almost 500,000 tickets were sold to different parts of the country.

The National Ministry of Transportation reported that the total number of tickets sold exceeds 490,000, including long-distance train services and buses that arrive and depart from the Retiro station.

However, and despite these data that anticipate another successful weekend in terms of tourism, the PRO was encouraged to criticize this reality.

For this reason, the president of the Argentine Chamber of Tourism, Gustavo Gabriel Hani, denied the head of Advisors to the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Julia Pomares.

The Larreta official had marked a supposed drop in the country’s tourist activity.

“What is happening with tourism in Argentina? A long weekend is coming, but more and more Argentines are unable to travel due to the loss of purchasing power, less connectivity and expensive transport prices,” said the official, and added: “Kirchnerism destroyed all the progress we had made until 2019.”

However, Hani’s response was not long in coming. “From our sector we see a very important recovery in post-pandemic activity. This recovery exceeds in most cases the records of 2019”.

“We celebrate this recovery and we trust that our activity will be a mainstay for Argentine development, providing thousands of jobs throughout the country,” said the representative of the sector.
