At 9:00 a.m. local time (1:00 p.m. GMT), WTI futures contracts for June delivery were down $0.93 from the previous day’s close.

Benchmark US oil opened lower today after yesterday’s boost, which several analysts related to the difficulties between the Iraqi government, the Kurdish autonomous government and Turkey to reactivate the pumping of 400,000 barrels of crude daily through a pipeline that goes through Turkey.

Baghdad managed in an international court last month to stop the transit of the crude alleging that it did not have the permission of the Iraqi federal authorities and although an agreement was reached for the reinstatement, it seems that this has encountered obstacles.
