On behalf of the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League, AC Milan and Naples faced each other this Wednesday with only one goal in mind: take a lead before the second leg.
The Algerian international Ismaël Bennaceroffered the victory to his team by registering the only purpose of the meeting, on his first shot on target. The Milanese signed the first goal of his career in the Champions League.

The former Arsenal player saw his shot turn into a goal in the 40th minute of play. Warned in the 60th minute, he gave way to his teammate Saelemaekers 7 minutes later.
AC Milan also took advantage of the red card obtained by Napoli. Bennacer scored AC Milan’s first goal in the quarter-finals of the most prestigious of competitions since 2007, 16 years ago.

Bennacer marks his presence as an African scorer for AC Milan in the UCL
With his written goal, Ismaël Bennacer has become the 4th African player to score with AC Milan in the Champions League. After the match, he spoke at the microphone of BeIn sport France.

He described the moment as something truly exceptional, to score in the quarter-finals, in San Siro. He continues by specifying the importance of achieving this goal by seeking qualification.
Bennacer therefore adds his name to the list of Algerian players who have scored at least one goal in the Champions League. They are 15 in number with in mind Riyad Mahrez with 20 goals in 54 games. The Citizen is followed by the legend of Algerian football Rabah Majer with 12 finishes in 17 matches played. To close the podium we find the former Porto Yacine Brahimi with 8 goals in 35 appearances.
