State President Harald Sonderegger was a guest on Thursday at “Vorarlberg LIVE”.

In a special edition of “Vorarlberg LIVE – in the middle of Europe”, the President of the State Parliament, Harald Sonderegger, visited the studio on Thursday. In a detailed interview with VOL.AT editor-in-chief Marc Springer, he reported, among other things, on his work in the European Committee of the Regions, where he champions the interests of Vorarlberg at European level.

“To leave navel-gazing a bit”

“To leave this navel-gazing a bit.” From a Vorarlberg point of view, one is well advised to work at European level and beyond, said state parliament president Harald Sonderegger (ÖVP) on Thursday as part of the series “In the middle of Europe” on Vorarlberg LIVE. In the program he underlined “the advantages that open borders, open markets, free access to educational institutions across Europe offer us.”

These essential foundations of the EU must be continuously strengthened. With regard to the activities of the Committee of the Regions (CoR), Sonderegger spoke of a “very large variety, different perspectives and approaches, in terms of problems and also political decision-making processes within states” in the EU. Attempts are being made to articulate the interests of the regions and communities “as best as possible” at the European level.
