The World Tourism Organization recently listed the most beautiful villages in the world. Indeed, the list of this agency which depends on the United Nations, concerns the 32 picturesque and rural places, which offer the best tourist experience to these visitors.
To compile this list, the World Tourism Organization took into account several selection criteria. Notably, the increase in the number of tourists, the village’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in all its aspects. Namely, economic, environmental and social.
The list of the most beautiful villages in the world according to the UNWTO
To participate in this selection, 136 applications from 57 countries were selected to draw up the list of the 32 most beautiful villages in the world. You should know that each country has the right to present three of its best tourist sites.

Furthermore, the UNWTO specifies that this selection is not a classification, the villages are organized in alphabetical order. Spain is doing the best with three qualified villages. That is, the Rupit, Alquézar and Guadalupe. The best villages in the world according to the UNWTO are:
- Alula Old Town in Saudi Arabia;
- Zell am See in Austria;
- Wagrain in Austria;
- Puqueldón in Chile;
- Dazhai en Chine ;
- Jingzhu en Chine ;
- The Choachí village in Colombia;
- Pyeongsa-ri in South Korea;
- Aguarico in Ecuador;
- Angochagua in Ecuador;
The World Tourism Organization list continues with:
- Alquézar in Spain;
- Rupit in Spain;
- Guadalupe in Spain;
- Choke Mountain Ecovillage in Ethiopia;
- The Mestia in Georgia;
- Kfar Kama in Israel;
- Sauris Zahre in Italy;
- Island of Giglio in Italy;
- Umm Qais in Jordan;
- Ksar El Khorbat in Morocco;
- Moulay Bouzerktoun in Morocco.
But also :
- Creel in Mexico;
- The Fort au Mexique;
- Lamas in Peru;
- Raqchi au Perou;
- Castelo Novo au Portugal;
- Rasinari in Romania ;
- Bohinj en Slovenia ;
- Murten in Switzerland;
- Andermatt in Switzerland;
- Birgi in Türkiye;
- Thai Hai au Vietnam.
As you can see, the most beautiful village in the world is not Algerian. Moreover, no village of Algeria appears in this list. And this, unlike Morocco which is qualified with two villages. In particular, Ksar El Khorbat and Moulay Bouzerktoun.

How about a trip to Algeria? what are the most beautiful villages on the national territory?. Of course, Algeria has among its marvelous landscapes, villages which are little known and forgotten by travel operators, but which preserve the most beautiful treasures of Algeria.
Among this selection, the Tiferdoud village of Kabylia. Located at 1200 meters altitude, it offers, for its visitors, a magnificent view of the Djurdura massif. Another village that combines history and landscape, Ghoufi which is located in the Aurès.
To illustrate the beauty of Algeria, one can only cite El Atteuf in the wilaya of Ghardaia. A place that can be admired in the Mzabs valley.
