He is treated painfully by his doctor while continuing to lead a fight that he does not want to accept lost. Yet the Nazi dictator begins to fear defeat…and death. “I die with a happy heart”, says Adolf Hitler

“I die with a happy heart. I urge the leaders to continue the fight against international Jewry”Hitler dictated to his secretary. These few words are only part of those that the deposed leader will make lie in his last will. In this unpublished documentary, written and directed by Isabelle Clarke and Daniel Costelle, and commented by Mathieu Kassovitz, nothing else from this last manuscript appears. However, it contains 13 pages. As reported in an article by World published in January 1946, Hitler clears himself of this global massacre which decimated nearly 60 million people. “It is not true that I or anyone in Germany wanted war in 1939. This was desired and provoked exclusively by those international statesmen who are of Jewish origin or who worked for Jews. I have made enough arms limitation or control offers that posterity cannot blame me for this war.”, can we read. Then he adds: “I left no doubt that millions of men would face death, that hundreds of thousands of women and children would perish under the bombardments in the cities. But the real culprits will have to pay”.

“My wife and I have decided to die”

On April 30, 1945, Adolf Hitler urged those hiding with him in the bunker to come out and take up arms. While, left behind, he and his wife Eva Braun commit suicide. Him with a bullet in the head, she with a cyanide injection, “to make a beautiful corpse”. “Nor do I want to fall into the hands of an enemy who would rejoice in being able to present the spectacle of my death to the hysterical masses”he has written upstream to justify his gesture. “Many men and women decided to link their fate with mine at the last moment. I asked them, and finally ordered them, not to do so, but to continue fighting. I asked the commanders for years, navy and air force to support by all means the spirit of resistance of our soldiers, to keep them in the National Socialist faith by reminding them in particular that I myself, as the founder and creator of this movement, I preferred death to cowardly resignation and capitulation”, he explains further. In a last ditch effort to die in what he thought was a final act of resistance, he drops some of his right arms and appoints others, such as Karl Dönitz whom he chooses as his successor. A vain effort to save the face of the Reich even though the war is lost. Then, in the private testamentary part, he declares: “My wife and I decided to die in order to escape the shame of defeat and surrender.. Our desire is that our bodies be immediately cremated at the same place where for twelve years I have done most of my daily work in the service of the people”.
