2023 is being a great year for the music industry, of that we have no doubt. Throughout these months, various bands and artists have surprised us with spectacular albums and songs. And of course, Mexican projects are also being raffled off, as in the case of Rubytates, who present us with a new song called “Exit”.
Wow, the band from Toluca is having a great year. To begin with, they started with several shows in the Dominican Republic, Mexicali and Tijuana, as well as a presentation at Tecate Pa’l Norte 2023. However, In addition to announcing their first big concert at the CDMX BB Auditorium, Rubytates will return with new music under his arm and we can already hear a preview.
Rubytates makes us wonder if we live in a simulation with the role “Exit”
As you will remember, it was in 2022 when Rubytates released their most recent record material, Letting you go is also loving. But now, the band surprises us by premiering “Salida”, the first single from their next studio albumwhich makes us wonder something that blows the minds of many and does not let them close their eyes at night: could it be that we live in a simulation?
Through a hypnotic melody, futuristic synthesizers and a voice that captivates us, Rubytates presents us with this song with which they start a new stage that excites us a lot. The band’s own vocalist, Pepe Nungaray spoke about the sound and inspiration of his new single:
“Perhaps this is the least pop song we’ve ever made, but it’s the one that introduces this whole universe that we perceive to be futuristic, sci fi that materializes on planet earth. ‘Salida’ talks about how a person leaves the matrix and falls into the true reality, connected to a machine, in a room he doesn’t recognize, without knowing if he is on earth, in another space, or in another dimension”.
“It’s one of the weirdest songs we’ve ever done because we’ve never dared to talk about topics like this, topics that we’re fans of and which we like to imagine and think could become real.”
As if this weren’t enough, Rubytates also released the official video for “Salida”, which was directed by JAMBA. In this visual they reinforce the idea of the song, as we see a woman who realizes that she is part of a simulation and begins to question everything around her. Without a doubt, it is a science fiction story that cannot be missed.
