QUERETARO, Qro. (proceso.com.mx).- The governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, participated in an act of the National Action Party (PAN), where he posed next to a banner that said “Kuri Presidente” and spoke of a country that losing, polarized, divided, separated, bloodied”.
Hours before, citizens experienced minutes of panic after the execution of a person, who also left an injured woman, in one of the popular squares in the north of the city, where one of the president’s daughters was even present.
“I ask you to always put our state, always our principles, at a time when the country is losing, at a time when the country is polarized, divided, separated, bloody, in Querétaro we are saying that there is another way here.” , which led to the PAN audience chanting: “Kuri!”, “Kuri!”, “Kuri!”, “Kuri!”.
In his speech, the governor also pointed out: “Here we do not blame other governments, here we do not blame those above, those below, here the people of Querétaro know that no one is going to do for Querétaro what we Queretaro do not do for ourselves”.
The president highlighted the positive aspects of his government, regarding the health system, childcare centers, full-time schools or support for entrepreneurs.
“We are the only state at the national level with zero observations, the first state at the national level in the absence of corruption, that here in Querétaro there are medicines in the state hospitals, that here in Querétaro there are full-time schools, that here in Querétaro does have children’s centers, that here in Querétaro we do believe in institutions, that here in Querétaro we not only put ourselves in the shoes of the citizen but we walk with them; Because we know what it costs for a business to be a business, we support entrepreneurs, where Entrepreneurship Institutes close, here we open them, that here in Querétaro we do support women, we do trust them,” he said.
The governor recognized that in 2024 there will be a before and after in Querétaro and announced that the formula that led the PAN to success in this state in 2021, when it swept the governorship, in the spaces of the local and federal congress and in the majority of the Town Halls, may not necessarily be the same.
That is why he asked them to innovate and work, but above all to go in unity:
“We know that if we don’t go together, we’ve already lost, but united, nothing and no one can stop us,” he said.
At the partisan event, attended by local and federal legislators, mayors and officials of the Executive Power of Querétaro, only the state leader of the PAN, Leonor Mejía Barraza, and the governor spoke.
“Mauricio!”, “Mauricio!”, “Mauricio!” or “Kuri!”, “Kuri!”, “Kuri!!”, were some of the cheers towards the president, who was received with applause and acceptance from the militancy, among which were women who asked him to be photographed with the.
“You can see it, you feel it, Kuri Presidente!” said a group of people who carried a banner with his name: “Kuri PRESIDENTE”.
“Go out to the streets, feel proud of your state and defend it,” the president asked the public attending the partisan act.
Just a couple of days ago, at a meal offered to executives and representatives of the media, the governor, whom he asked for their support, spoke of the problems in Mexico.
“We have a divided, polarized, separated country, and worst of all, it is bloodied.”
But he also spoke about what is happening at the regional level, in states like Guanajuato where the PAN governs with Sinuhé Rodríguez Vallejo, or in Michoacán, where the government is Morena with Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla.
“I had a meeting last week with the general of the region and with the general of the area and with the two governors of Michoacán and Guanajuato, what is happening a few kilometers from here is impressively terrible and the worst of all is that there is already a normalization of violence, that the media will never allow it”.
Now, the governor asked the PAN members “not to attack anyone”, instead I invite them to communicate what their government is doing in Querétaro.
The president of the PAN in Querétaro, Leonor Mejía Barraza, explained that the purpose of the event was to promote “unity.”
“We reinforce our principles, our convictions and well, as I shared with you, living in this atmosphere of harmony, of unity, both with the governor, with the entire PAN system, and well, the 18 municipalities participated, the 18 Municipal Committees also participated almost the entire PAN system, all the local and federal deputies, legislators, senators, some mayors were also there and well, tell you that the PAN is more united than ever, we are going strong and firm for 2024”.
One of the absences was that of the former PAN governor Francisco Domínguez Servién, who has differences with the leadership of the national PAN, headed by Marko Cortés Mendoza, and who has even criticized that his party does not have a clear national project, but who does ” raise their hands” to be candidates for the Presidency, considering that “the horse is very skinny.
“The PAN is not a person, we are all the PAN and we do not win based on disqualifications, based on substance or with black campaigns,” Governor Mauricio Kuri also said in his message to the militancy.
“DIRECT ATTACK”
Regarding the violent event that occurred on Friday night in the commercial plaza, the state president reported that it had been a direct attack against a person who was visiting the state, coming from Aguascalientes, where the PAN also governs.
“It was a direct attack on that person, that is, it is not an attack that can happen to anyone, it was an attack on a particular person.”
The Querétaro Prosecutor’s Office reported on social networks that the couple attacked with a firearm came from Aguascalientes, “they were visiting the state this weekend” and that the incident had occurred in the upper parking area of the shopping center.
“Aha, I’m calmer now, NOTHING happens in Queretaro!” Was part of what a user replied to the information released by the Prosecutor’s Office.
“Not because of that (that it was a direct attack), I am going to say that… that I and I have to do everything possible to cover security, it is a very worrying issue, even my daughter was there at that time at that place and in Querétaro we have to move forward with what happened and of course clarify it,” added Governor Kuri.
The Prosecutor’s Office, in charge of Alejandro Echeverría Cornejo, also reported that the aggressor is “a male motorcyclist” and that they are checking if there are more people or vehicles involved in the act.
However, they recently reported that they had insured 6 people and 2 vehicles, “possibly related to the incident.”
Regarding the message that he would give to the people, in the face of these acts of violence, Governor Mauricio Kuri stated:
“In Querétaro we have never, at least in my government, we have never wanted to hide anything, on the contrary, we talk about things head-on, nor do I blame previous governments, nor do I blame other things, the country is bloodied , and it does not mean that there cannot be events in Querétaro, what I can tell you is that we are going to react and we are going to prevent and in Querétaro we are going to shield our state, as we are doing, and indeed these types of events can continue to take place What I can tell you is that we are going to react with the full weight of the law.”
The governor took “selfies” with all the PAN people who requested it.
