The death toll from the explosion of a house in Pennsylvania (United States) rises to five

MADRID, 14 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least five people have died from the explosion at a house in the city of Plum, in the US state of Pennsylvania, which has left three injured, one of them in critical condition.

Although the initial reports on Saturday spoke of four deaths and one missing person, the authorities found the body of the person they were looking for in the rubble on Sunday.

The explosion, whose causes are still unknown, has affected a dozen houses in the area due to the extent of the flames, the breaking of glass or the collapse of walls, as published by the newspaper ‘The New York Times’.

The head of the Plum Police Department has reported that the deceased are four adults and a teenager, although he has not specified exact names or ages.

The emergency medical services have had to treat 57 firefighters for “minor problems” they suffered while working to control the fire born from the explosion, said the assistant chief of emergency services for the region, Steve Imbarlina.
