The news agency Siren and Acta Publica have, via open and closed sources, mapped the 125 people who, during the past year, have been requested to be detained or prosecuted for crimes in connection with the Easter riots that took place in Norrköping, Linköping, Örebro, Malmö, Landskrona and Rinkeby in Stockholm.

The review shows that seven have connections to criminal networks and that the majority, 70, were previously unpunished in court.

– My image has always been that it is a very divided group of people, says Emelie Bodegrim at the Örebro Police to Siren.

Most accused and convicted in Örebro

In total, 87 people who participated in the Easter coup have had their guilt tried in the district court. Of these, 17 have been acquitted. The events in Örebro have so far led to the most prosecutions and convictions, where 59 people have been investigated for crimes.

In Linköping and Norrköping, up to the end of March, 32 people had been investigated for crimes in connection with the riots in Skäggetorp and Navestad. According to the police, two of these – a 27-year-old and a 33-year-old – have connections to criminal networks.
