Before the Wipptal Broncos visit the Messestadion on Saturday, Markus Juurikkala’s team will meet HC Unterland away from home. Game starts at 8:30 p.m.

While the ECB was able to win a few victories in front of their own backdrop, the away record looks much leaner. The last victory in the distance dates from October 12th, 2022, in between there was only one point to take away from Zell am See. So a New Year’s resolution of the team could of course be to change this fact. Tomorrow Tuesday there will be the first opportunity to do so, provided the current situation allows it. The staffing level is extremely thin, as chairman and assistant coach Guntram Schedler points out: “We currently have ten notable failures. In addition to our injuries, some players are now sick. Depending on how the situation develops by tomorrow, we may have to cancel.”

Together with the team doctors, everything possible is being tried to get the situation under control. HC Unterland has already qualified for the play-offs and is battling with Cortina for second place in the table. An impressive performance by the newcomers to the league, who, along with EC KAC Future Team, are the only teams that have beaten Jesenice this season.
