Bremen is a very small federal state. Nevertheless, it is about votes in the Bundesrat – and also about the symbolism. The SPD is therefore rightly pleased that the negative trend from past state elections in Bremen has been stopped for them. She can thank her popular mayor Andreas Bovenschulte for that. But she would do well not to proclaim another social democratic decade right away. A reminder is the election for the Greens.
