The Capital City Hall will lend 43 million lei to two municipal companies, according to projects approved on Thursday by the General Council. 20 million lei will go to the Metropolitan Buildings Trust and 23 million to Compania Energetica Servicii.

Mainly, the money provides the two companies with the necessary liquidity and will be returned within a year.
“The granting of an interest-free loan from the budget of the Municipality of Bucharest, 20,000,000 lei, is approved, with the purpose of smooth running of the activity by ensuring the company’s liquidity needs, in order to continue the works entrusted by the Municipality of Bucharest and subordinate entities”, it is stated in the draft decision aimed at granting the loan to the Metropolitan Building Trust company.
“The granting of an interest-free loan from the budget of the Municipality of Bucharest to the company Compania Municipală Energetica Servicii București SA, in the amount of 23,000,000 lei, with the following destination:
- 18,000,000 lei for the development of the contract that involves the purchase of 8 micro-power plants and their commissioning;
- 5,000,000 lei for the smooth running of the company’s activity and for the continuity of the other projects (operating expenses, payment of suppliers, etc.)”, the project states.
