After being discharged due to his intestinal condition and before the request for extradition to Brazil, now former President Jair Bolsonaro adds one more problem. The Justice of that country issued a judicial order that blocked the bank accounts of the former president.

The measure was announced this Tuesday, hours after the discharge of Bolsonaro, who spent the night hospitalized in a clinic in Orlando (United States), where he has been since the end of 2022.

The person who carried out the actions was the Deputy Attorney General of the Public Ministry of the Court of Accounts of the Union (TCU), Lucas Rocha Furtado. In this way, he ordered the blocking of the bank accounts of former President Jair Bolsonaro.

“Due to the Accounting Process and the vandalism that occurred in the Federal District on January 8, 2023, which caused numerous losses to the federal treasury, I request that the unavailability of assets be decreed,” the request states.

In addition, the court order requests the blocking of assets “of others responsible, especially those who financed the aforementioned illegal acts.”

The blocking of bank accounts not only affects Bolsonaro, but also the accounts of the governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha, who was suspended from office for 90 days, after the decision of federal intervention in Brasilia, ordered by decree by the president Lula da Silva.

The judicial measure also reaches the former head of Public Security of Brasilia, Anderson Torres, and all those who financed the attacks on Sunday in the Brazilian capital.
