Los Elegantes de Jerez announced to their followers, through a live broadcast, that they were victims of a serious crime upon arriving in the United States, a place where a concert is scheduled.
“Sometimes one thinks that because you are in the United States you are safer, that there is no crime. There is also here. We were victims in Texas,” they said.
According to their vocalist, Emilio Jesús López, they came to houston and they decided to go to eat at a very famous firm; leaving the trucks parked outside the place.
Unfortunately at that moment, armed robbers arrived and within minutes they broke open the vans and took their belongings.
“They removed the plastic, put in a drill, opened the doors and took everything,” describes a band member while showing off the vehicle.
According to the musician’s description, the assailants carried everything: backpacks, cell phones, computers. passports, visas, suitcases, cash and other belongings.
“They even took instruments. They took clarinets, a trombone. Some were even left without clothes,” he says.
Despite the economic and material loss, the musicians asked those responsible to return their work papers to be able to give the show tonight, and to keep the articles.
“If the person who took it is watching this video, keep everything and return the visas to us. They can be recovered, but it takes time,” the singer asked.
“We have pending tours, we are here on weekends and it will be a bit difficult to have to wait for appointments,” he explained.
