The Buenos Aires Electoral Board announced this Tuesday the schedule for the open, mandatory and simultaneous primary elections (PASO), which will be next August 13, throughout the province, while the electoral campaign will begin on July 14.

Through a publication in the Official Gazette, the Electoral Board reported that “Article 1 Decree 567 calls for the election of candidates for governor and lieutenant governor, provincial senators and deputies, municipal mayors, councilors and school counselors”. It also adds that “article 3 of the same legal body establishes the simultaneity of the provincial primary elections with the primaries for candidates for president and vice president of the Nation, senators and national deputies.”

This is how the electoral schedule of the Province was:

  • May 5: last deadline to deliver membership forms and affiliate lists.

  • June 4: presentation of groups and political parties.

  • June 14: registration of alliances.

  • June 19: registration of the electoral board of each party.

  • June 24: presentation of lists, which will be made official or receive comments within 5 days.

  • July 1: presentation to the Buenos Aires Electoral Board of already official lists, which must be accompanied by the adhesions.

  • July 5: last deadline to present the lists not presented on 1/7 and that have been communicated in a timely manner.

  • July 14: start of the electoral campaign.

  • July 24: polling places and table authorities will be designated.

  • August 11: closing of the electoral campaign.

  • August 13: PASO elections.

  • August 21: final scrutiny. Forty-eight hours after completion, the results will be communicated.
