The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, together with the director of ANSES, Fernanda Raverta, announced this Friday the increase due to mobility and reinforcement for retirement and pensions. It is an increase of 17.04% according to the mobility formula and a bonus of $15,000 for those who receive a minimum retirement.

The reinforcement of 15,000 pesos per month will be paid in March, April and May for those who receive up to a minimum retirement and that will gradually decrease to 5,000 pesos for those who receive up to two minimum salaries. Thus, with these increases, the minimum retirement will rise to 73,665 pesos.

“Today it is appropriate to apply the increase in mobility for retirees, pensioners and beneficiaries of family allowances and other social security benefits, almost 17 million people”, explained Sergio Massa, who also indicated that this increase aims to give “11 points of recovery of the purchasing power” on the path to rebuild the 19-point drop that occurred between 2017 and 2019.

“The path of income recovery is central to the functioning of the internal market and the consumption of our economy but, above all things, to improve the quality of life of our retirees,” said the minister.

Massa highlighted that “beyond the investment that the state makes in the drug program, which in some way additionally improves the purchasing power of the retiree” they believe it is essential “that the improvement be through the value of retirement and pensions” .

The minister added to this that the “application of the formula has an impact from March to March of more than 125% with respect to the value of retirement and pensions and also has, for this quarter, the additional effort of the National Treasury of more than 200 billion pesos in a reinforcement bonus that further improves the income in smaller-scale retirements”.

“The objective of the reinforcement bonus is that the improvement in the retiree’s purchasing power serves to alleviate the effects of inflation in their daily life and to improve their purchasing power,” concluded the Minister of Economy.

increase and reinforcement

For her part, Fernanda Raverta explained that “retirees who have the minimum are going to receive the 17.04% increase, which the mobility formula shows, and a reinforcement of 15,000 pesos per month, for three months.”

“Those who have up to two minimum retirements will have a decreasing reinforcement of up to $5,000,” remarked the head of the Anses.

“84% of retirees in Argentina will have this additional reinforcement to the increase that 100% will receive, in addition to the boys and girls of Universal Assignment and the Family Salary,” added Raverta and concluded by assuring that, with this increase, “no retiree is going to receive less than 73 thousand pesos”.

Raverta expressed: “Being able to say that we recovered 11 points out of the almost 20 that were lost in the previous government is very important. Destroying is an instant and rebuilding and re-guaranteeing that the pocket of retirees allows them to live with dignity is much slower. “.

“This measure that we are taking for retirees and pensioners will allow us to follow the path in the next three months to improve basic retirement but, in addition, reinforcement from the State to guarantee that income is improved” , he concluded.
