The British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA Awards for short) are the most important national film awards in Great Britain. The prizes will be awarded again on February 19th. And even the pre-gala event, the BAFTA Tea Party in Los Angeles, is considered an important event in the awards season.
Not only nominated actors are invited, but all celebrities who are well known in Hollywood society.
However, one VIP couple was totally unwelcome this year: Prince Harry (38) and wife Duchess meghan (42).
On the evening of January 14, stars like Cate Blanchett (53) and Kate Hudson (43) partied at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, while Prince Harry and his wife Meghan were deliberately not invited by the organizer. The couple lives not far from Los Angeles and likes to surround themselves with superstar friends.
But according to the “Daily Mail”, the organizer feared a PR disaster, which is why Harry and Meghan’s participation was previously hotly debated.
The reason is, of course, Harry’s recently published biography “Spare” (German “Reserve”), in which he raises serious allegations against the British royal family.
The English-language edition of the autobiography was sold more than 1.4 million times on the day of publication, and the book is also on the way to becoming a bestseller in Germany
Organizers were afraid that if Prince Harry and his wife Meghan now walked the red carpet to the party, it would be taken as a cue for Harry to make further allegations against his brother.
In the book, Prince Harry complains, among other things, that he was always second only to his older brother and had to take a backseat.

The position of his brother Prince William (40) was obviously decisive again at the VIP party.
Because: Prince William has been President of the British Academy Film Awards since 2010. He has been awarding the honorary prize to the event for years. The US team hosting the ViP party in Hollywood was reportedly reminded of this by the BAFTA organizers.
And there a Duke of Sussex has to take a backseat to the heir to the throne.
Prince William and Princess Kate have yet to comment on Prince Harry’s allegations. In public appearances, they just smile everything away
