While the iPhone 15 is still at the center of rumours, its successor is already being talked about. Under the hood, it is assumed in particular that the iPhone 16 will be equipped with a 5G modem signed Apple. But it is at the level of its silhouette that we have just obtained interesting information very recently. These come from Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants, an analyst renowned for his reliability on future Apple products.

According to him, the Pro and Pro Max versions of the iPhone 16 will have larger screens than usual. As a reminder, the standards used by Apple for several generations of iPhone are as follows: 6.1 inches (classic and pro version) and 6.7 inches (Plus and Pro Max version). The iPhone 15 should also have panels of these dimensions.

How big will the iPhone 16s be?

In contrast, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are said to have 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens respectively. If this materializes, it would be the largest screens ever made for the Apple smartphone. Young, however, does not specify whether the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will be affected by this expansion.

The analyst promised that he would reveal more precise sizes (to two decimal places) during his speech at the Display Week conference to be held in Los Angeles on May 23. As a reminder, the precise diagonals of the iPhone 14 are 6.12 or 6.69 inches.

It remains to be seen whether an increase in the diagonal will convince consumers. If lovers of the phablet format should applaud this choice, the latter is likely to be much less appreciated by users with small hands, lovers of smaller formats.

Still in the rumor mill, it is whispered that the iPhone 16 Pro could benefit from Face ID under the screen. The TrueDepth camera would be visible only when requested (for unlocking in particular).
