The Kansas City Chiefs won the championship in American football’s final game, the Super Bowl, after a dramatic finish. In a back-and-forth game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Chiefs won 38–35 thanks to a field goal in the closing seconds.
The 57th Super Bowl game was something of a dream finale as both the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles were top seeds in their respective conferences. Both had 16 wins and only three losses heading into the final.
In addition, the team was led by the league’s two hottest quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs) and Jalen Hurts (Eagles).
The match offered several dramatic twists and turns. Philadelphia rallied with only a couple of minutes left in the first half of the game and went into halftime with a 24–14 lead.

The Kansas City Chiefs keyed into the third quarter and quarterback Patrick Mahomes managed to turn the game around in the fourth quarter with two touchdown passes in three minutes that gave them a 35–27 lead.
The Eagles didn’t give up and equalized with five minutes remaining.
But Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker still had the chance to tie the game in the final seconds, and he took it. The Kansas City Chiefs made a field goal with 11 seconds left when Butker hit the ball. The Eagles’ final drive didn’t pay off, and trailing 38–35, the Chiefs had to celebrate for the third time ever.

– We’re going to celebrate this the right way, commented Kansas star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was also chosen as the game’s most valuable player. Now the 27-year-old has won double Super Bowl titles in three years, becoming MVP in both.
– I’m not going to call it a dynasty yet, we’re not done yet, Mahomes said.
The Chiefs previous championship is from the year 2020.
