Jocelyn Mettler, Abby’s facial model in The Last of Us Part II, revealed on her official Twitter profile a message that exposes a very negative and dark side of video game franchise fanbases. More than two years after the release of the Naughty Dog-developed game, Mettler continues to receive threats from angry fans on social media.
Due to her character’s actions in the second game of the franchise, some fans unfortunately did not know how to separate what is reality and what is a video game, starting to hate, offend and threaten the professional because of the actions of the character who has her face.

In The Last of Us Part II, Abby kills Joel early on in the campaign, finally carrying out the revenge she’s been planning for a long time. The character is the daughter of the doctor killed by Joel in the first game of the franchise, when the survivor chose to save Ellie’s life and deny an attempt to cure humanity.
Many fans of The Last of Us were revolted by the death of the character who starred in the first game, and Jocelyn Mettler began to feel the fury of a part of the public that should not be valued.
