MEXICO CITY – Mexican singer Peso Pluma, the world’s chart-topping artist, released a surprise song titled “Tulum” on Thursday in collaboration with Grupo Frontera.
In a statement issued by his representative, it was noted that the singer surprised his fans on this day by adding three additional tracks to his album “Genesis”, published on June 22.
“As leaders of the Mexican music movement, Peso Pluma and Grupo Frontera have come together to collaborate on this catchy summer anthem that premieres today along with the official music video,” the agency reported.
Written by Latin Grammy winner Edgar Barrera, Ríos, and Featherweight, “Tulum” and produced by Barrera, “blends their iconic collective sounds with upbeat melodies and sweet lyrics as they serenade a love interest.”
The video features Featherweight and the members of the Frontera Group Adelaido Solís, Julian Peña Jr., Alberto Acosta, Carlos Zamora, Carlos Guerrero and Juan Javier Cantú and was directed by Abel Baez.
Additional bonus tracks on Featherweight’s “Genesis” include the previously released singles “PRC” and “Las Morras” in conjunction with Blessd.
According to the agency, on June 23, one day after the album’s release, it was “the highest streaming of the Mexican music genre in the history of Apple Music” as the album broke the world record for highest streams in the first day for a Mexican music album in the history of the firm.
In addition, Grupo Frontera also broke the first-day streaming record to become the biggest Mexican music single in Apple Music history with “un x100to,” which they released alongside Bad Bunny.
