The transfer market has been a martyrdom in Colo Colo, since not only has it not been able to close the priority reinforcements for Gustavo Quinteros, but it continues to lose starting players. The last to join was their scorer Juan Martín Lucero, who despite signing a new contract just two weeks ago, announced that he is no longer in the albos.

This announcement did not go down well with anyone in the Cacique and less so with the leadership, who intend to take the case to court, since the player is not respecting his bond that expires in 2025. In turn, he negotiated on his own arrival at Fortaleza in Brazil, bypassing the club that owns his pass.

The offer of Fortress

The Brazilian club offered Gato a considerable improvement in the salary he receives in Los Albos. To close his arrival, the striker and his agent appealed a penalty clause to leave the Monumental Stadium for just 1.2 million dollars, despite the fact that Popular invested 900,000 a few days ago.

However, they never directly presented an offer to Colo Colo, owners of the attacker’s letter and to whom they did not put an exit clause. That is why they intend to take the case to court, where they will not only sue the Argentine, but also Fortaleza.

Both Lucero and the Brazilian institution risk severe sanctions from FIFA. The footballer can spend a significant time without playing, while the club will be a couple of markets without being able to sign players.

For that reason, both parties gave the Cacique an alternative. As reported by journalist Cristián Ávila Soto from Radio ADN, Fortaleza proposes to pay 1.5 million dollars to avoid going to trial. For his part, El Gato and his representative offered not to collect the second fee for the purchase of the pass, which is another 450,000 that must be paid in June.

However, this figure is not liked in Black and White, so they will continue in the lawsuit against Lucero for breaking his contract, which was valid until 2025 and without an exit clause for the whole year. In Colo Colo they would only have agreed to let him leave if an important economic offer arrived at his offices and not leaving one that leaves as little profit as the striker claims.
