The franchise of Pokemonhad a very active year in 2022, because since the launch of several updates, its most recent game Pokémon Scarlet and Purple, has finally turned Ash Ketchum into a Pokémon Master before the end of the year.

But now, Pokemon Company posted and quickly deleted a bizarre, expletive-filled video on his TikTok this morning. The short video was posted on The Pokémon Company’s official Japanese TikTok page and then promptly removed.

Said video shows Pikachu dancing around a Lucario motionless as a curse-filled version of “If You’re Happy and You Know It, Clap Your Hands”. What’s interesting is that the video was specifically synced to accompany the song, meaning this was a deliberately made video and not an accidental choice of audio. And even though it was quickly removed from TikTok, it was kept on Twitter and shared by one of the users.

The video is a rare slip from the Pokémon brand, as it typically features family-friendly content, which has helped cultivate its massive following through clever social media campaigns. The Pokemon Company regularly posts videos of Pikachu and other mascots on its social media page, with the bulk of the videos set at The Pokemon Company’s Tokyo headquarters.

In other Pokemon news, The Pokemon Company is celebrating passing the 1,000 Pokemon species milestone with a much more family-friendly video. Pokémon is also gearing up to release a new series of Pokémon cards: the Scarlet and Violet series, which adds a bunch of new cards and brings back -ex mechanics to the game.

The Pokémon Company has also promised an improvement patch for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in the coming weeks, fixing at least some of the game’s performance issues.
