Nintendo never directly mentioned the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but obviously that’s what it was all about. In a short press release, the publisher then indicated that a new release date would be communicated laterafter which pre-orders were canceled and refunded.
A release soon? Advance Wars 1+2 emerges from the shadows
And since then, nothing, at least not officially. Because in the heart of July 2022, a certain EnterZalman said he received an email about pre-ordering telling him that the release would not take place that in 2023, on February 24 to be precise. Nintendo has still not announced the new release date for this remake of the Advance Wars license, but the title, which was decked out with a “To Be Announced”, has just been talked about again! According to Famiboards, Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp has recently been given a new NSUID number.
This code allowing the identification of the games in the various regions, is generally awarded shortly before pre-orders open. In other words, Advance Wars could very soon return to the front of the stage, and finally be released! According to My Nintendo News, the game has also resurfaced at Amazon Mexico and Canada, Best By, Walmat and EB Games. The email received by EnterZalman would therefore make sense, but Nintendo has not formalized anything yet.
