School emergency is one of Stockholm’s two emergency schools. The students are placed here for four weeks to ensure the safety of other students and staff at the regular school.
Today there are emergency schools in Stockholm and Gothenburg, but the government wants them to be in more cities and has set aside 50 million in next year’s budget for emergency schools.
While the students are at Skolakuten, they have no contact with other students. In the classrooms, there are sound-absorbing squares on the walls. The focus is on knowledge and anything that can distract has been removed.
What happened before you came here?
– I went into other classes’ lessons and shouted, says one of the students.
