It only takes a minute to drive to the second-hand shop, which is located a little outside the center of Karlsborg. For a year, the municipality’s labor market unit has run the store. They work with people who have been outside the labor market for a long time or who have been referred there by individual and family care.

– Those who are here are experts in managing money and making it go around, but I think that every week we have conversations about debt and how to deal with it, says Kristian Lagerström.

“Put your head in the sand”

The municipality cannot say with certainty what the increase in the number of people seeking help for financial problems is due to, but according to Kristian Lagerström, inflation and the increased cost of living may be a reason.

– You have found yourself in a situation and in order to solve it in the short term, you have taken out a new loan and a new loan, and in the end you end up like a kind of ostrich, burying your head in the sand and turning a blind eye to the problem.

Join Karlsborg’s second hand and see Kristian Lagerström tell more about how he experiences the increase in indebted people.
