“The assessment is that there is still room for negotiation. The issues being negotiated are complex and all parties believe that more time could untie knots.” writes Seko in a press release.
This means that stage 1 of the notice comes into force on Monday, where around 100 train drivers on the Öresund trains go on strike together with another 100 cleaners and workshop staff in Gothenburg and Stockholm. The Öresund trains will then not run over to Copenhagen and departures between Stockholm and Gothenburg may also be affected.
Stage 2 is moved to May 19 and Stage 3 to May 22.
The background is that the union and the employees did not accept the schedule changes that the employer could make as late as the day before a work shift. This could, for example, mean that employees are told the day before a morning shift that it changes to an evening shift with an overnight stay elsewhere.
The union demanded that the employer would need the employee’s approval for schedule changes made with less than two weeks’ notice.
