The Tesla Model X is still dominating drag racing almost two years after hitting the roads. Its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds makes it one of the fastest SUVs in the world.

Almost two years after its release, the Tesla Model X is still so fast in drag racing. It is not the only SUV of its kind since we also find the Mercedes Bi-Turbo V8, the Dodge Durango or the BMW X5M. Nevertheless, the Tesla Model X has nothing to envy them, at least on the drag racing tracks.

The Model X Plaid is unmistakably one of the fastest and most powerful SUVs in the world. Already in 2021, the Model X faced an Audi E-Tron and a Jaguar I-Pace on the track. He easily won the 400 and 1000 meter races.

The Model X Plaid is faster than the Lamborghini Urus Performante and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT

Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds, the Tesla Model X Plaid dominates drag racing. These are races from a standing start where you have to cross the finish line as quickly as possible, like the one between the Model S Plaid and the Rimac Nevera. In a new video, the famous YouTube channel “carwow” organized a drag race between the Model X Plaid, the Lamborghini Urus Performante, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, the AMG GLE 63 and the BMW X5M.

Unsurprisingly, the Tesla Model X Plaid won the race hands down. The only electric vehicle among the participants immediately took the lead and stayed there until the finish. With its triple electric motor of 1,020 horsepower for a maximum speed of 262 km/h, the Model X Plaid is a champion among SUVs. Moreover, the Model S Plaid sedan broke a speed record of 350 km/h.

Comparing the price of the Model X Plaid with that of other drag race participants, Tesla’s SUV is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. It’s sold from $119,990 compared to $72,200 for the Porsche Cayenne or $221,506 for the Lamborghini Urus Performante.
