The US declassifies documents on the origin of COVID-19

WASHINGTON – The United States government declassified documents related to the origin of COVID-19 and made them public this Friday.

The documents reveal the two hypotheses being considered about the origin of the coronavirus: one, which was due to transmission from an animal, and the other, which was due to a leak in a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

The documents revealed this Friday reaffirm that the Intelligence Council and four other unidentified agencies are leaning on the hypothesis that it originated from the transmission of an animal.

According to the documents that were classified, the Department of Energy and the FBI favor the theory that it originated due to a leak in a laboratory in Wuhan.

Meanwhile, the CIA and another unnamed agency are not leaning towards either hypothesis.

“Almost” all intelligence agencies agree that COVID-19 was not genetically manipulated or adapted in a laboratory.
