The US ensures that the "continuous" Russian attacks against civilians are a reflection of its refusal to negotiate peace

MADRID, 9 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The spokesman for the US State Department, Matthew Miller, has assured that the “continuous” Russian attacks against civilians in Ukraine are a reflection of its refusal to negotiate a peace agreement.

“We have seen Russia target civilian infrastructure, homes, apartment buildings, schools and hospitals for a while now. (…) I think they are a reflection of Russia’s refusal to participate in real peace negotiations,” he said. Miller during a press conference.

During the night of Tuesday, the President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, announced the death of at least nine people by the double missile attack on Monday against a residential area in the town of Pokrovsk, in the Donetsk region, and that has left more than 80 injured.

In addition, after Russia’s withdrawal from the grain agreement, the Army bombarded the port city of Odessa for several days in a row, thus destroying part of the grain storage infrastructure.

On the other hand, Moscow has assured that kyiv “disparages” the peace proposals of other international actors and that none of the points presented by the Ukrainian authorities seek a diplomatic solution and based on dialogue.
