The US will begin training Ukrainian pilots in the handling of F-16 "in a matter of weeks"

MADRID, July 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The White House National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, has assured this Friday that the United States Armed Forces will begin “in a matter of weeks” to train Ukrainian pilots in the handling of F-16 model combat aircraft.

The F-16s are precisely one of Ukraine’s main demands, although for the moment no Western power has agreed to send them to kyiv. Only Poland and Slovakia have supplied MiG-29 fighters, of former Soviet manufacture.

However, a large part of Ukraine’s allies have opened up to training their military in piloting these fighters. US President Joe Biden led efforts to unite allies in this regard.

UKRAINE, FREE OF WAGNER’S MERCENARY

On the other hand, Sullivan has assured that the mercenaries of the Wagner Group have left Ukrainian territory and, therefore, are not taking part in favor of Russia in the war, started by Moscow at the end of February 2022.

After staging a rebellion attempt at the end of June, the mercenaries finally aborted their purpose after the mediation of the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, who also offered to host them in his country.

Several videos have been published this week in which mercenaries from the Wagner Group are observed heading towards Belarus, or even already on land in that country. In addition, the head of the group and the one who led the revolt, Yevgeni Prigozhin, is also there.
