The Witcher 3 got a huge new gen patch on PS5, Xbox Series and PC, which brought as many problems as improvements. On PC, the game is finally saved and CD Projekt has nothing to do with it. That is exactly the problem

In rolling out its patch of The Witcher 3 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, CD Projekt claimed it dug into several community-created mods. The studio, which had detailed everything in its impressive patch notes and has thus retouched several popular mods in order to improve the graphics, the modeling or even the balancing of its game.

Unfortunately, despite all the efforts made, the patch brought with it a whole host of bugs, especially on PC where performance could bend the largest configurations, and still pose some problems today, despite the posting of several fixes. But once again, the community came to the rescue.

The Witcher 3 saved by a modder on PC

We owe the feat to modder Alikoko who has successfully developed a small mod that significantly improves PC performance by modifying a few ray tracing parameters and optimizing the graphics. The modder claims that the ray tracing remains of high quality, however, and that he was content to make a few visual concessions elsewhere to counterbalance. Result, on an RTX 2060 Super for example, it is possible to improve its performance by more than 35%, a rather significant gain. The game is therefore fluid and no longer vomits its guts when the screen is a little busy. Other optimizations of the mod are also expected.

A perfect solution that could therefore save the lives of many players who still cannot enjoy their game properly. The problem is that this is once again a mod and not a definitive and official solution, optimized by the studio.
Those who are interested in this life-saving unofficial patch will therefore once again have to turn to sharing platforms to install the famous mod. And while many players are used to mods, others are completely unfamiliar with them and could miss them altogether, unlike an automatic patch.
However, it is proof that it is still possible to improve this The Witcher 3 and official patches should therefore be soon (hopefully). What is certain in any case is that CD Projekt is working on the subject and regularly updates the situation on its social networks.
