The Witcher series is based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s literary saga. Nonetheless, one of the biggest criticisms from the first season was that the Netflix series strayed too far from the novels. Fortunately, Lauren Hissrich has promised that season 3 will not continue in this momentum. The next season where Geralt will not only face monsters will be much closer to the literary work.
The Witcher season 3 will be closely linked to Andrzej Sapkowski’s Time of Scorn
During an interview granted to Entertainment Weekly, Lauren Hissrich explained that: what’s so interesting is that season 3, to me, is the closest thing we’ve done as an individual adaptation of the books “. Specifically, The Witcher Season 3 will be based on The Time of Contempt, which is the second novel in the literary saga.
The showrunner also added that “ we can’t do all the pages, but The Time of Scorn gave us so many great action events, plot points, defining character moments, and huge reveals from a great villain. There’s so much to do that we’ve been able to stick really, really closely with the books “.
This is therefore excellent news for fans of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels who were disappointed so far that the series didn’t stick more to the saga. In any case, this does not prevent Henry Cavill from leaving the Witcher universe soon. Moreover, the petition launched for the return of Henry Cavill has already exceeded 300,000 signatures.
