When the emsiana takes place in Hohenems from May 4th to 7th, Caritas and the SDG Forum Vorarlberg are looking forward to being actively involved:
On Saturday, May 6th, Omar Kasim, head of Caritas Lerncafé in Hohenems, will talk about his life as part of a new format “A table for two”.
Omar Kasim has achieved the most important goal in his life: to enable his three children to grow up in safety and security. In between there is an adventurous path from the decision to leave your homeland in Syria to integration and securing your livelihood here in Vorarlberg. He will talk about this, about his work in the Caritas learning café and about the courage that transforms wishes and dreams into a zest for action as part of the emsiana on Saturday, May 6th, from 2 p.m. in Harrachgasse in Hohenems.

The new format “A table for two” developed by Frauke Kühne invites interested members of the public to talk to a person they don’t yet know who has a very personal story of courage to share. Verena Hämmerle and her colleague Martin Meusburger from the Hohenems palliative care ward, Valentin Fürnshot, Katharina Drexel, Silke Schmid and Julia Lau from the Tanzhaus Hohenems and the Hohenems women’s representative Meltem Polatkan also invite you to the discussion.
If you want to open yourself up to this special kind of encounter and take a seat at the table for two, you can register at www.literatur.ist register. If the weather is bad, the ‘table for two’, which is organized by the Vorarlberg Literature House in cooperation with the cultural department of the city of Hohenems and the SDG Forum Vorarlberg, takes place in the Moritz organic restaurant. The action is financially supported by the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADA) as part of the awareness campaign on the importance of the global sustainability goals of the UN for people’s immediate living environment under the motto REBELS OF CHANGE.
