"There was a sequel planned": the director of The Incredible Hulk reveals some details of a second part that was never filmed

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has featured its fair share of characters since it began, but there is one in particular that has had the label of underrated since it appeared from the start of the MCU: Hulk. While the character has been vital to many movies, we only got to see one film that hasn’t aged quite well.

However, Marvel had plans for a sequel centered on the Jade Colossus. During an interview with Comic BookDirector of The incredible HulkLouis Leterrier, revealed that a sequel was almost ready to shoot, with the appearance of different versions of Hulk and a good amount of lore that gave the character the importance it deserves.

“There was like a whole sequel ready-made. There was the Gray Hulk, Red Hulks – there were a lot of cool things we were planning. The Hulk is a complex character within the Marvel Universe. You want the primitive… the one with anger. And then when You go to Gray Hulk and Smart Hulk and you lose that a little bit and you get a little more jokey with him.”

leterrier had big plans with the Hulk from the MCU, but it seems that Marvel Studios decided to give him a totally different role within this franchise. Without going any further, the director himself comments that his projection of his character is far from what he had planned to build for the study.

“It was a lot of fun. And that’s what I wanted to do. But I took my time. Because there are so many characters, they want everything fast (laughs). I like She-Hulk, but then you know, the yoga between Hulk and so on. .. I was like ‘Okay yeah, they’re a long way from my Hulk.”

It seems that the Hulk will once again have a very important role in Captain America: Brave New World, since many characters from the first film of the Emerald Giant will appear again in the fourth installment starring Hulk. anthony mackie and with the surprise landing of Harrison Ford.
