Ombudsman Inger-Marie Landfald confirms to TV 2 that the parties have not reached an agreement after Wednesday’s negotiations.

– Then there is a conflict. We finished at 01:05, she says.

The deadline for mediation was midnight.

– The parties were so far apart that there was no basis for putting forward a proposal that could be expected to be recommended by both parties, says the Ombudsman’s assessment.

– This is a strike for justice, says the trade union’s negotiation leader Anne Green Nilsen.

Strikes in several places in the country

In advance, the Trade Union threatened a strike in various places in the country – initially in only six kindergartens.

And that’s how it was.

There are 42 members distributed among these kindergartens:

  • Auglendsdalen, Salvation Army Kindergarten in Stavanger
  • Solgry, Salvation Army kindergarten in Drøbak
  • Trollstua, The Salvation Army’s kindergarten in Asker
  • Teisentoppen, Salvation Army kindergarten in Oslo
  • Birralee International Kindergarten, Trondheim
  • Ås kindergarten, Stord

Disagree about pension scheme

Kindergarten pension has many similarities with the new public service pension, which is the scheme for the employees in the municipal kindergartens.

– Kindergarten employees are by no means among the wage earners in Norway. Now the employer will deny us the same pension that everyone else in the nursery sector has, says Green Nilsen in the Trade Union.

The goal of the Trade Union is to get a nursery pension in place also in NHO.

At the same time, the association wants to avoid the area becoming a loophole for employers, who want what is a cheaper solution for the employer, but which pushes the risk onto the employees.
