The Tafel in Germany make an indispensable contribution to our society and distribute food donations throughout the country. To strengthen this commitment, ThermaCare donates real heat where it is needed and supports the umbrella association of food banks with a coupon campaign throughout April.
Customers save, ThermaCare donates to the Tafel Deutschland
Since the founding of the first Tafel in Berlin in 1993, the Tafeln in Germany have already supported countless people with food donations, and the need for this commitment is greater than ever. To ensure this important commitment, ThermaCare is supporting the Tafel in this 30th anniversary year with a coupon fundraiser:
From the beginning to the end of April, with the purchase of each pack with at least 4 heat packs, 1 EUR will be donated to the Tafel Germany, while customers save 3 EUR at the same time. The coupon code is stored in all participating pharmacies so that the amount is electronically deducted directly at the checkout. The coupon can also be redeemed via the ThermaCare-Website download.
The proceeds from the donation go to the umbrella organization of over 960 food banks – the Tafel Deutschland. The non-profit association represents the interests of the Tafel in public and supports the Tafel work on site with practical help.
The panels: more important than ever!
First the global corona pandemic, then the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine and now historical inflation in Germany are demanding food banks across the country.
“Since the beginning of the year (2022), we have seen an increase in customers of 50 percent,” says Jochen Brühl, Chairman of Tafel Deutschland, “that’s around two million people”1. The 30th anniversary year is therefore also the most challenging. And yet the umbrella organization writes on its website: “More crisis, more challenges and problems, more work, more improvisation, more adaptation. But also: more public perception, more encouragement and more support.”(2)
30 years of Tafel therefore also means: hope, confidence and solidarity. Today, the Tafel are the largest socio-economic movement in Germany.
Social commitment is a matter close to ThermaCare’s heart
With this campaign, ThermaCare is supporting important humanitarian institutions in Germany with donations for the third time in a row. “For us, ‘giving warmth’ is not just a product feature of ThermaCare,” says Julia Balyazina, Marketing Lead CHC. “We consider it absolutely necessary to donate this warmth to society as well – our ‘donate warmth’ cooperations are therefore real projects that are close to our hearts, which we implement out of conviction.”
With the help for the German food bank, ThermaCare is committed to the essential contribution of all food banks to supporting economically disadvantaged people in Germany and is continuing the commitment of the past year. Last year, ThermaCare already supported TERRE DES FEMMES, an association that works for the rights and freedom of women and girls, and the German Red Cross.
