This Thursday, April 27, the NFL will present a new edition of the Draft and that is, many players will define their future, after passing through college football.

Why is the NFL Draft important? Because the teams will choose the future of their franchise during seven roundsbut there always has to be a more important round and it’s the first.

The reason why the first round is the most important, is because in the first 32 picks (all teams choose a player) the best collegiate players are selected from United States.

that is, that the best player in all of college football is chosen with the first pick of the entire Draft, although that does not guarantee that he will be the next big star of the NFL.

Many of the players chosen in the first draft selection fail to meet expectations, although some (but very few) they manage to reach the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The first global picks in the NFL Draft

This topic of the Draft is as old as the NFL itself, because the first such event began in 1936 and every year it has been held without interruptions of any kind.

Obviously, the quarterback position has the most overall first picks with 34followed by running backs with 23 (although, since 1995, a player has not been chosen in this position).

The position with the fewest first-round overall picks is that of perimeter players, that is, on defense. Followed by the linebackers, who have four first-round picks.

Now, as for the Universities, some are better creators of talent than others, for example, Notre Dame, USC, Oklahoma and Georgia are the schools that have the most number 1 overall Draft picks with five players.
