Mexico City.– The collision of two trains with the balance of a young woman dead and 106 injured, on Line 3 of the Metro, on January 7, was the result of the intentional cutting of wiring and the negligence of the driver of the train that crashed.
In a message to the media, the spokesman for the local Prosecutor’s Office, Ulises Lara, indicated that two investigation folders were opened.
The first for attacking the communication channels against whoever is responsible.
And another for the actions of the driver Carlos “N”, for which an arrest warrant was requested against him for manslaughter and manslaughter.
“The acts carried out in the electrical wiring connection records, which through the use of fire and tools, seriously affected the power supply, communications, signaling and automatic piloting, which put the operation of Line 3 at risk, are determined to be fraudulent. of the Metro on both tracks of the corresponding section between the Indios Verdes – La Raza stations,” he said.
Regarding the actions of the driver, he explained that one day before the crash, failures were reported in the signaling of said section due to the burning of wiring, therefore, by order of the management, it had to be circulated manually and not exceed 35 kilometers. per hour.
“The driver of train 24 did not adhere to the guidelines contained in its technical manuals. He exceeded the speed limit in Restricted Manual Driving (CMR) and changed to driving in Automatic Piloting, when it is prohibited in safety gear. He did not communicate in no time to the Central Control Post (PCC) to notify the change of type of driving and did not carry out any maneuver to stop the train and avoid the fact”; Lara added.
The spokesperson also mentioned that the theft of the black box from train 24 by Metro personnel with the intention of transferring it to their workshops is being investigated.
For this reason, a folder was opened for the illegal exercise of public service.
Regarding the alleged incidents caused on different Metro lines, the Prosecutor’s Office has initiated seven folders.
The first for the events in Potrero; the second by hermitage; the third in Polanco, the fourth for the events in an automatic pilot sensor at the Hidalgo – Guerrero interstation; the fifth due to the derailment of one of the motor cars in the El Rosario workshops; the sixth due to a short circuit at the Barranca del Muerto – Mixcoac interstation; and the seventh due to a short circuit at the Air Terminal – Hangares interstation
