Several cyber users affirmed that –from what is known up to now of the article that would transform the Health Promotion Companies (EPS)– Nowhere is there talk of any strategy to have a greater number of doctors and nurses in it Colombian health system.

“In none of its reforms does it bring solutions to this”, “The differential is in the access to specialists and nursing. For this, advanced practice, recognition and variation in education are urgently needed. Nothing is in the reform”, “although what he points out is true, it must also be said that the health reform proposed by your government does not contain solutions to this problem”, “What part of the health reform talks about the generation of more health personnel?”, and “The diagnosis is indisputable, what is not clear is that the solution to this rickets is to end any type of private insurance”, were some of the comments that are read in the trill of the Colombian president.

The last former Ministers of Health, Alejandro Gaviria and Fernando Ruíz, they are still not convinced by the articles of the government of Gustavo Petro on health reform.

For example, Gaviria through his account Twitter He pointed out: “A health reform must be clear about the existing problems, those that it can solve and those that cannot. The proposed reform does not address issues related to human talent. It may even make them worse if the reform leads to a financial crisis (a likely scenario)”.

While Fernando Ruiz has stated: “the president’s advisers should remind him that the low number of doctors and nurses is due to Law 30 of 1992 that regulates higher education. All doctors and nurses in the labor market in 30 years have been employed in the sector. 137,000 doctors by 2023″.

Added to the criticism Andrés Vecino, a researcher at Johns Hopkins University, who pointed out that: “Yes. There is a low number of doctors and nurses not only compared to the OECD but also to the region, but: lThe current reform does not improve this problem and some measures such as the tariff manual could, in fact, make it worse”.

The director of the U, Dilian Francisca Toro, also announced that her party was getting up from the negotiation table, since they did not see their contributions reflected. And she announced that they will present an alternate paper that includes the proposals of the other parties.
