Strong rumors had recently circulated about the current version of fable 4 was scrapped and rebooted from scratch on the Unreal Engine game development engine, but now, the journalist jez corden he debunked all the claims via Twitter.

You see, Corden tweeted, “Hard confirmed this is a total lie,” in response to the tweet containing the rumors and confirming the information, furthermore, the head of Gamesindustry.biz, Christopher Dringalso chimed in to say that the claims are not true.

The original tweet, was created by Idle Sloth, and has now been deleted, but they managed to save a screenshot with the original information from Idle Sloth, who they claim got the rumors from 4chan, where it was stated that the current version of Fable 4 was deemed “‘unplayable’ by most of the team”, and that the “Forzatech version of Fable 4 will never see the light of day”.

Let’s remember that originally, Fable 4 was officially announced in 2020, and Playground Games hasn’t set an official release date as of yet, as not much is actually known about Fable 4 and the developers haven’t said much about the game.

What has been revealed is that it’s being made on the Forza game engine, so it’s also likely been in development for at least five years, based on context clues offered by the anniversary celebration tweet. Playground lead engineer job, Tom Gaulton.
