With the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro Pro, Apple may not have paid enough attention to dissipating the processor heat.

We already reported yesterday that the first buyers of the new device processors were complaining about overheating. There are high temperatures, especially during fast charging. The problem seems to occur across all models. User Zelbo reported on Instagram:

“My iPhone 15 Pro Max is almost too hot to touch, especially when fast charging. I thought people were exaggerating, but no, that’s not great. Interestingly, when I hold it in my hand, the left side rail and part of the back on the left side are by far the hottest…they line up perfectly with the logic board.”

Apple wants to make improvements with software

One reason is that the new titanium housing cannot dissipate as much heat as the previously used material (stainless steel).

Other design decisions also contributed to the problem. Apple is said to be planning to make improvements via a software update. This has not yet been officially confirmed. It remains to be seen how the new iPhone 15 models will run console-quality games like Resident Evil Village and Death Stranding…
