Michoacán, Mexico.- The bodies of six people were found in three clandestine graves in the Municipality of Zitácuaro, Michoacán, 10 kilometers from the border with the State of Mexico.

The Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) began an investigation folder for the violent events reported in the town of Loma Larga.

It was indicated that the authorities were alerted to the discovery of three clandestine graves, for which reason personnel from the Specialized Unit at the Crime Scene (UEEC) went to the site to carry out the corresponding investigations.

“During the investigation, the investigative triad located a first point covered with weeds; there the bodies of two men of 1.60 and 1.70 meters, respectively, were found, both wearing sportswear,” the ministerial authority explained.

“Likewise, three meters away they appreciated a point of disturbed earth, so that when excavating it was possible to locate the body of a third victim, approximately 1.60 meters tall and with a thin complexion.”

He added that by continuing with the investigation, an area was also located where there was a cumulus of earth, where an exploration was carried out that allowed locating the bodies of three other men, two of them of medium complexion and one of thin complexion.

The six victims – until now unidentified – were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo), where they will undergo anthropology and genetic studies for their identification, the Prosecutor’s Office stated.

“The FGE continues with the investigation acts that allow the full clarification of the facts.”

Michoacán records a violent start to the year with the murder of 23 people, 14 of them last Monday.
