They hope that the accusation against Prieto will move other complaints, such as the "Tajy" case

Judge José Delmás summons the mayor of Ciudad del Este, Miguel Prieto, charged with breach of trust, in order to impose the measures he deems pertinent to the seriousness of the case.

The accusation formulated by the Specialized Unit in Economic Crimes and Anti-Corruption for breach of trust was admitted today by Judge José Delmás.

The magistrate summons Mayor Miguel Prieto for July 28, so that he can appear with his lawyer for the hearing on the imposition of measures.

On the occasion, the judge will define if he complies with what was requested by prosecutors Silvio Corbeta Denmark, Alma Zayas and Rodrigo Estigarribia, who request house arrest for Prieto.

The official and Francisco Raimundo Arrúa are also charged with the same degree of responsibility.

In addition, as co-authors, Maggi Elizabeth Fariña Almada, Sebastián Martínez Insfrán, José Félix Cáceres Galeano, Julián Benítez Gamarra, Higinio Ramón Acuña, Cirle Elizabeth Alcaraz Ramírez, Nelson Alexis Segovia Acevedo, Fermín Avalos Britos and Emili Vanessa Florentín were prosecuted.

Prieto and five people must appear on the 28th, while the rest, on the 31st, at different times.

The case corresponds to the phantom acquisition of 25,000 basic basket kits in the year of the pandemic (2020), incorrectly invoking the exception route. This caused a loss of 1,769 million guaraníes.
