In its argument for the veto, the Executive branch alleged that the granting of the administration of public squares to the National Congress, could violate municipal autonomy.
The initial intention of the project was to improve, revitalize and protect natural resources, with the care of national heritage in its different properties.
After an extensive debate in plenary, it was finally resolved to accept the Executive’s objection, with which the administration of the plazas remains in charge of the capital’s commune.
