The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) carried out a survey of household appliances that show higher consumption from Energy in Argentine households and detected the distribution by region and income of the population.
The study on Home Use of Energy is considered key for the Balance of Useful Energy (BEU), which allows know the spending patterns of Argentines to design energy policies. From the analysis it emerges that the devices with the highest consumption are those for cooking and preserving food, heating and washing machines, among others.
In the sample it was possible to determine the possession and use of household equipment and computer equipment, lighting and vehicles, while characteristics such as age and efficiency class were recorded, as well as the frequency of use and the type of fuel. used, both nationally and by region.
Research shows that the main equipment used for cooking food works with gas and represents 85.4% of the total, while 17.6% use stoves, kitchens or electric ovens. For food preservation, 88.5% of households use a refrigerator with a freezer and 12% without this technology, but 42% of the former are between 5 and 10 years old.
Regarding the elements for home refrigeration, 84.8% of households have one, among which the lowest percentage is observed in Patagonia, 34.6%, and Greater Buenos Aires the highest with almost 92% of residences. In the case of the heating for the home, Patagonia presents 79.6% that use gas appliances and only 5.2% with Energy electrical.
