They reveal that an intruder violated the security of the National Palace and almost reached the presidential area

MEXICO CITY (appro)

The event occurred on November 20, 2019, reveals one of the leaked documents from Sedena.

The Infobae portal, which had access to the document, recalls that there was no morning conference that day because the president would present decorations and promotions to elements of the Armed Forces in the National Palace and then lead the parade for the anniversary of the Mexican Revolution in the Plinth.

At 5:30 p.m. that day, Infobae details, an unknown person entered the National Palace through Moneda street. He entered the historic compound without identifying himself and no military element noticed his entry, he adds.

The man continued on his way until he reached the main access to the Patio de Honor, where he was approached by two soldiers, identified by the portal as Briseida and Javier Leonardo. The subject replied that he had a meeting with César Yáñez, at that time general coordinator of Politics and Government of the Presidency.

The military, according to Infobae, told the subject that this was not the way and, without asking for identification, explained how to get to the place he was looking for.

According to the portal’s account, the subject arrived at an alternate access to the Patio de Honor and there another soldier asked him where he was going. This time “the intruder changed his version: now he was going to an Intelligence Table. The soldier let him pass and once again, the subject managed to continue on his way without having to identify himself.

The man advanced through the interior of the courtyard of honor, reached the second floor, hanging around the elevators that lead to the presidential area, the area where López Obrador, his family and his close circle are located, the site indicates.

It was not until then that a secretary at the reception of López Obrador’s private office detained him, told him that he could not stay and asked for military assistance, the note added.

A captain and a lieutenant escorted the man, who until then had been identified as Víctor Hugo Sánchez, out of the National Palace.

This means that the man evaded at least three military filters and was close to reaching the presidential area, until a civilian stopped him, the portal highlights.

But not only that: the intruder left the National Palace along Moneda Street without any authority investigating his intentions, Infobae exposes. The Sedena, he adds, only recorded a selfie of the subject apparently inside the National Palace.

After the violation of Palace security, five soldiers were imposed “disciplinary corrections,” according to the Sedena document cited in the note.
