Juarez City.- Neighbors of the Senderos del Sol subdivision suffered a shortage of drinking water for three days, due to a pole hitting one of the lines of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), a situation that was repaired yesterday afternoon.

“We had a failure due to a flying buttress that hit the line,” said Víctor Barba, a CFE spokesman, about the damage that caused the annoyance of the neighbors, who to have the water went to nearby sectors to collect it in gallons and cans.

Luis Enríquez Ríos, one of the residents of the aforementioned subdivision, explained that this problem also affected other neighborhoods such as Villas de Alcalá, Sierra Vista, Parajes de Oriente and San Isidro, and that due to the lack of drinking water, they reported the damage to the Municipal Board of Water and Sanitation (JMAS), a body that clarified that the problem corresponded to the CFE.

He indicated that due to this situation, basic needs such as washing clothes, bathing or for human and pet consumption were affected.

“We started with the problem from Sunday, Monday still arrived at 10 pm, but it left again, and right now we are hauling water; Yesterday there was a pipe to support the families, but we didn’t realize it because we were hauling water on Fundadores street,” he mentioned.

In addition, he announced that the boys and girls of the Alfonso Maldonado Elementary School did not attend classes due to lack of water.

“It is affecting us because the children are not going to school due to lack of water, it is also affecting us to bathe to go to work, wash clothes and what is needed,” said the affected person.

In a tour carried out by this means, it was possible to observe several residents of the Senderos del Sol subdivision who claimed to have had more than three days without the resource, while they were supplying water in a private business, and where they went with gallons and cans to fill them.

Through a publication on social networks, the JMAS announced that due to this problem, wells 209, 233, 207, 251 and 213 are out of operation.
